SGE#2 Why College?

            The past few weeks I have really been thinking about why I am in college. originally I planed on going for sports but... I got hurt. So what am I still doing here? come to think of it I dont know. so I began to talk to different people about myself and really who I want to become I have some ideas but nothing solid. my indecisiveness has pulled me from one idea to the next. Why not quit school and travel? buy a one way ticket to unknown and just live take the money you have go as far as you want and just live. personal I was thinking about doing that and going to Europe just backpack a crossed the continent getting jobs when I need to, or i could find a better job really dedicate my self to it and move up and gain some experience, It changes daily. currently im thinking about getting a associates in architectural drafting. now comes the question for you. Why are you in college? what is your aim in life? leave your thoughts below

AE#2 Slanted reporting

As I diligently surf the internet looking for an example of slanted reporting I came across a video. Ok maybe not diligently. But I did come across a video about the above topic. This quick clip CNN gave reports on a "cash for guns" event in California. The funny thing about it is that they make it seem like there taking havoc causing death machines off the streets. But in actuality they are receiving a bunch of novelty toys that would have been sitting in a box collecting dust. The police reporter talks about how these guns are being used by gangs to commit heinous crimes. The only people I saw being interviewed where a bunch old people. Take a look and let me know how you feel in the comments below.

SGE#1 THE OATMEAL

SO thinking about my frist assigned entry and all the web sites I currently read. Their is one in particular THAT WILL RULE THEM ALL... Not really but you get the point. now it is a must if you enjoy laughing your face off. It takes a certain kind of person to enjoy The Oatmeal anyone else is a robot or hairless cat. Also be aware that they dab into some touchy topics that may be considered taboo to some people. churchies beware. When ever I need a good laugh, my heart is in sorrow, or all of the planets have aligned and nature has deemed it time for me to melt my face of with laughter I will visit THE OATMEAL.

AE#1 The truth about blogs

     blogs blogs blogs...... blogs blogs well for me blogs are a whole new thing but I would say that I have a generally positive attitude towards them. Until a few days ago I didn't even know some of my favorite web sites where blogs, But what are blogs. well from the little research I did and a few short videos like (blogs in plain english) this is what i came up with, they are the main stream way for people to report news, the happenings of the world, or of a business. The amount of information a blogger can give or the subject it highlights is completely up to them. all in all blogs are what you make them they are information busses  driven to the audience of the bloggers choice. they can end up in places the diver never thought they would go.
       

             

 There are a few different blogs I read. the first of which I have already mentioned Gizmodo. reading gizmodo allows me to stay up to date with the latest in tech and a little more. Known for its information on gadgetz and gizmos hence the name Gizmodo is a place for tech enthusiasts of all kind and even people looking for a break

What Gizmodo lacks shockmansion makes up for. SM is the definition of cool. It is for me the place I go when I have some time to kill, want to laugh, or see something awesome. If you have heard of the song snapbacks and tattoos this would be the the definition of that life style. church goers beware.

macrumors is by far the least desirable of of the blogs I have viewed. the style is to monocrome and the overall feel of it is to professional. When I read a blog i like it to be informative but with a personality it should have some pizazz.

Intro Practice Entry Me

            Who am I WHO AM I "I am the guardian of lost souls! I am the powerful, the pleasurable, the indestructible Mushu!"(Mulan 1998) I mean Zach, Zach Ohrtman to be precise. I am currently attending Glendale Community college to help figure out what I want to do in life. I have a few different options Im looking at but nothing that is really grasping me yet. the main careers I'm looking into are architecture, air force, possible get back into football because it has been the one thing my heart has clung to. last week I was cleared to start running again, recently had surgery on my left shoulder to repair the labrum that was torn. A month or two from now I should be able to start lifting weights again. Which is exciting! I've been really wanting to get back into shape. for me fitness is a part of life.

            I know it sounds like Im just a meat head but I do have a nerdy side I love video games with a passion to the point where I deemed it unhealthy and am currently limiting my playing time. games are fun but you cant live off of them so I decided to divert my attention to more productive things. I like to think I'm a bit of a techy well at least the start of one I love computers and everything to do with them Gizmodo is one of my favorite blogs I read I highly recommend it I will also talk about it more later in my 1st blog entry. Im big apple guy you either hate em or you love em, you could say I'm a movie buff, and an athlete, I love hanging out and relaxing to.  

I hope in attending GCC I will be able to find a purpose for my self and in doing so start a life.
